I wanted to use the wall as as a surrogate for the floor keeping the sculpture “in the round” so that it is interesting from the sides as well as head on. Some were carved from abandoned carvings that caught my eye in a new way. I was also interested in making carvings for small dwellings. These sometimes take on random symbols that do not crop up in my other work.
