I use oak veneer plywood usually not exceeding 2 feet. Sometimes I cut the panel to golden section proportions so I can subdivide accordingly which result in the color paintings; otherwise I cut near but not quite squares and paint configurations of golden sections while leaving a neutral background of bare oak. I use a mixture of tube oil with bees wax to get a mat surface without reflections.
