These wood constructions began as studies for large outdoor steel sculptures but when they accumulated I began hanging them on the wall for storage where they took on a different kind of life. They are conceptually related to the most formal stones; both types began with a simple premise but the structures became expressionistically complex when the design is carried to its conclusion.
